This is not an emergency response tool, but a way to track and better understand hate in our community. If you need help now and have an emergency, always call 911.
What Happens with my Report?
- Your report helps track trends, identify concerns, and guide future initiatives in Muskoka.
- No immediate action is taken - the data helps shape policies, awareness efforts, and future action.
- If there is a serious concern which presents danger to the person and/or community, police (OPP) will be notified.
- This helps the OPP build a case to classify future incidents as hate crimes, when applicable.
Privacy: The information collected will only be used for the purposes of reporting incidents of hate. If at any time you do not wish to continue, you are under no obligation to participate. Participation in this report is voluntary. Information gathered as part of this process is done so under the authority of Section 28 of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA).
